Alfredo Genovese was born <\/span>in Buenos Aires on november 24, 1964.
<\/span><\/p>\n

In 1984, he starts to study at National Fine Arts School, where he discovers, that the fileteado is missing in the school\u2019s curricula. Outside the school he takes fileteado classes with Le\u00f3n Untroib and gradually changes his signpainter job to became fileteador.
<\/span><\/p>

In 1988, he finishes school as painting professor, and then starts travelling for a few years. He lives two years in Italy working in artistic serigraphy and mural paintings. <\/span>In 1993, he returns to Buenos Aires, where picks up his fileteado work and also take trompe l\u2019oeil  works by request. <\/span><\/p>\n

He sets up his own studio, Taller de Fileteado Porte\u00f1o in his old neighborhood, working by commision. He also becomes acquainted with Ricardo G\u00f3mez, one of the last masters of fileteado horsecarts, to learn the trade.
<\/span><\/p>

In 1996, he travels through China, India, Nepal and Tibet, where he observes the different ornament painting styles.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

After an exhaustive work in traditional fileteado painting, Genovese moves his work to the human body, with different materials but the same technique, and in 1999 and 2000 he develops an ad campaign for Muchmusic Network<\/b>, painting the fileteado on renowned argentinian musicians and models. He has also created fileteado designs for advertising to recognized brands as Nike, Evian, Havanna, Coca Cola, Aiwa, Mercedes Benz, Red Bull,\u00a0Tupperware, The Temple Bar, Golden Goose\u00a0<\/b>and has designed magazine and CD covers for artists in Denmark, Spain, Australia, Italy, Switzerland and USA. <\/b>With tattoo artist\u00a0Claudio Momenti\u00a0from\u00a0Lucky Seven Studio\u00a0in Buenos Aires, he introduces the fileteado in the tattoo world.<\/p>

\n\t\t\t\tFrom 1998 to 2012 he gave fileteado workshops in the\u00a0Ricardo Rojas Cultural Center, belonging to the\u00a0University of Buenos Aires<\/b>, and since 2008, held fileteado workshops arround the world.\n\nHis research in filete iconography and his teaching experience allowed him to publish his first book Tratado de fileteado porte\u00f1o, in 2003, followed by Fileteado Porte\u00f1o in 2005, Manual del filete porte\u00f1o in 2007 and the book of filete porte\u00f1o in 2009.\n

On june 28th of 2012, the\u00a0<\/span>City of Buenos Aires <\/strong>names him an\u00a0<\/span>Outstanding Presence in<\/span> Culture.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
